When playing a computer game, there are moments that you wish to share with your friends. Winning a hard boss fight or outmaneuvering a large army in a strategy game is something to brag about. Using advanced screen recorders to capture these scenes can affect your computer's performance, as it can slow down your game and thus, those battles will feel less epic. PlayClaw is designed specifically for gamers. While running, you can take screenshots or start recording with the aid of shortcut keys. While recording, your gaming experience will not be affected, due to the software's low system requirements and the way it makes use of your CPU.

Codecs or other additional tools and services are not required. You only need to install the software and run it. The setup kit is small and the installation process is smooth, so you will not be kept from your game for too long.

The interface is not crowded with options. You will find strictly what you need to record or take snapshots of that perfectly executed headshot. On the main window, you can select a hot key for displaying various settings while playing the game, set an output path for screenshots and recordings, and a few options for starting the program with Windows, minimizing the interface to the system tray and others.

Basic capture options can be accessed on a separate window, after clicking a button in the lower left corner of the interface. Here you can set a shortcut key for taking screenshots, starting or stopping the recording and stopping and deleting the recording. Other options on this window will let you select an encoder (MJPEG or low or no compression), set a value for video file FPS, compression threads and selecting one or two audio devices.

When playing a game, all you have to do is use a set hot key and the software will start recording. When you stop it, the video file will be stored automatically in the selected folder on the interface.
